This building shows a commitment to sustainability with historic façades and the latest technology.
One of the priorities of this project has been to combine the most advanced technology with historic façades. This enables the building to be sustainable in all aspects. The project incorporates alternative energies, indoor environmental quality efficiencies (geothermal), improved water consumption, the sustainable development of open spaces, better waste water treatment, and low carbon footprint materials.

Among the different LEED certification schemes, the project has followed the LEED for New Construction and Major Renovations (LEED-NC) for new buildings or major renovations. This scheme provides a comprehensive framework for assessing building efficiency and meeting sustainability goals. In doing so, it considers the application of sustainability criteria, both in the design phase of architecture and technical installations as well as in the construction, commissioning, and use of the building.

In addition, Centro Canalejas Madrid is LEED Gold certified, the most prestigious international rating. LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), developed by the US Green Building Council, is an international, voluntary environmental assessment and certification system based on criteria for developing highly efficient, sustainable buildings.
